Department of Anaesthesiology
Department of Anaesthesiology provides all anaesthesia care to surgical or non surgical departments of the hospital with two consultants. Dr. A.S. Khurana (MD Anaesthesia from PGI Chandigarh is one of the senior qualified experienced anaesthesiologist practicing anaesthesia for 25 yrs. Dr. Abhishek Kumar Gupta is another anaesthesiologist and intensive care specialist, who is MD Anaesthesia and ex senior registrar from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate institute of medical sciences Lucknow, having keen interest in the field of Critical care and pain management.
Anaesthesia department meet the full perioperative requirements of all surgical patients in the form of care of operation theatre, post-anaesthesia care unit and intensive care unit. All the operation theaters have ultra modern anaesthesia delivery systems and monitoring systems. The standard we practive for anaesthesia and monitoring is standard III of American Society of Anaesthesiologist recommendation. Department provides complete perioperative anaesthesia care to all patients which include preoperative evaluation and optimization, intraoperative anaesthesia care, and postoperative support system. Postoperative anaesthesia care unit is managed in the supervision of anaesthesiologist by qualified trained staff. Intraoperative and postoperative acute pain management is by anaesthesiologist with multimode pain controlled methods. Very soon we are going to operate acute pain services in the view of better operational unit for acute pain management.
Anaesthesia department is also having one wing that is intensive care unit (ICU). We are having ten beds ICU equipped with al kind of modern critical care facilities. Anaesthesiologist supervises all ventilator support system, monitoring modalities, and nursing care. All patients who require postoperative intensive care unit after major operative procedures are under care of anaesthesiologist.
Anaesthesiology department is totally sufficient to meet all type of operative and intensive care requirements of any patient, in the form of comprehensive, compassionate, dedicated,efficient patient care with latest health care techniques.
