  1. Radiation Oncology – deals with X-ray therapy for cancer
  2. Medical Oncology – deals with chemotherapy or “injection therapy” for cancer
  3. Surgical Oncology – deals with surgery for cancer

  3. Department of Pathology – deals with lab processing and reporting on the type and nature of cancer on biopsies taken.

It is important to realize that treatment of cancer requires team work with close cooperation between the various specialties involved (Surgical Oncologist, Radiation Oncologist, Medical Oncologist, Pathologist, Radiologist, etc) in patient care for successful patient care.
